La Farine[edit]

Where's the La Farine bakery in the Dimomd? Or is it gone? --CodeGeneratR 19:24, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, I just found it. On Fruitvale one block south of MacArthur, across from Farmer Joe's. They need a bigger sign, though. --CodeGeneratR 04:39, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What is the sourcing for the "dim-mond" pronunciation? I have lived in this neighborhood for more than 20 years, and have never heard it used. Everyone I know says "DYE-mond," like the jewel. Note: This link to a cached MacArthur Metro page from 1997 shows the diamond-shaped mural that used to be on the wall of Ann's Cafe at Fruitvale and MacArthur and notes that "The gem shapes are an obvious but irresistible visual pun." http://www.dimondoakland.org/2007_12_30_dimondoakland_archive.html Carny asada (talk) 04:55, 18 June 2012 (UTC)Carny_Asada[reply]

Do not merge with East Oakland![edit]

East Oakland is too big and too diverse a place to be adequately covered in one article. The articles for the neighborhoods that have distinct identities are important to conveying how many different experiences you can have in such close proximity to each other in this city.
