Amy Winehouse's goddaughter?[edit]

At what age did Amy Winehouse become Dionne Bromfield's godmother? Godparents are appointed when Christians baptize infants or young children. Winehouse was only about twelve years older than Bromfield, so must have become her godmother unusually young, perhaps aged around twelve or thirteen. I am also confused because Winehouse was Jewish, confirmed by her Jewish funeral. Was she a Messianic Jew? Or is Bromfield also Jewish? But the Jews do not, as far as I understand, have godparents. Perhaps Winehouse played some role in Bromfield's Zeved habat? There are also not many black Jews, apart from the Beta Israel. How did Winehouse come to know the Bromfield family? I am confused. I am also posting this question here: Talk:Amy_Winehouse#Dionne_Bromfield.27s_godmother.3F--Oxonian2006 (talk) 00:05, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Neither a real godmother nor a real aunt, more mentor. According to [1] more like a connection between families than anything formal or religious.--Egghead06 (talk) 06:16, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think she may have a Jewish father, see section below...Colt .55 (talk) 11:02, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
At the beginning of this video, Winehouse says, "When I met Dionne she was 11". So she's definitely not her actual goddaughter. I don't think that should be in the article. -- Hux (talk) 23:56, 12 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Jewish heritage[edit]

Back when "Yeah Right" was released I thought I saw a quote saying that Dionnie Bromfield's father was Jewish. I have not been able to find the source. This would make Dionnie mixed race, which can be seen in her skin colour. Bromfield could also be an anglisiced German-Jewish name, so its plausible. I guess we just have to wait for an interview to find out. Colt .55 (talk) 10:58, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dionne Bromfield question

I'm not 100% sure how the word comes across for you, but to me, "half-caste" is pretty much a pejorative term. I can see that a lot of your editing is Judaism-related (and I saw your self-identifier on your page), but the way you are phrasing your questions makes it sound like a) you know nothing about the topic, and b) you're trying to throw some sort of negative connotation into the whole thing, like it makes such a big deal that she might turn out to be a mixed-race Jew (which, if her mother is not Jewish, she is not, even if her last name was Cohen). Furthermore, Bromfield isn't necessarily German-Jewish; it's also the name of two towns in England. MSJapan (talk) 01:14, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

My Response Sorry if you thought I was being negative. I litterally was just trying to make points just about her possible Jewish roots. I wasn't trying to be offensive. Colt .55 (talk) 08:46, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

2014 album[edit]

I could not find any evidence about the 2014 album, "Treat Me Right". But, I found it was released as a single in 2013, which is missing from the singles list. 85.217.34.203 (talk) 16:53, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
