Only three?[edit]

The text says that dipropylene glycol is the mixture of three isomers of a dimer of propylene glycol, and yet the image in the Chembox shows one dimer of 1,3-Propanediol (4-oxo-heptane-1,7-diol) - I would like to know what is correct. Also, I think the dimers of propylene glycol should be written in the simplest way, like: 4-oxo-heptane-2,6-diol, 3-oxo-2,4-dimethyl-pentane-1,5-diol and the hybrid 3-oxo-2-methyl-hexane-1,5-diol (or something like that). The unbranched propane diol dimer represented is, to my knowledge, incorrect. The three isomers differ by the position of branching methyl groups (or hydroxyl functions, depending on how it is drawn). I think what is intended is the dimers of propane-1,2-diol. See http://www.chemspider.com/Chemical-Structure.17346560.html . This has three structures in its diagram. Many ids are mucked up due to confusion. So 1,3-Propanediol dimer would be another substance, made in a different way. Names can be substitutative or additive. And the common name may differ. Toxicity[edit]
