spelling[edit]

"Dirck Barendsz." with the ‘stray character’ at the end is the correct spelling. It indicates an abbreviation of Barendszoon and is very common. Compare for example Rembrandt Harmensz. van Rijn and Jan Havicksz. Steen. Here the Rijksmuseum spells his name correctly, so the source you gave can be ignored.
