flying a direct flight can be more troublsome than a connecting flight since people are often unaware of the difference. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.29.214.107 (talk) 16:29, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delta Flights through NRT[edit]

Hi! There is a minor dispute on whether Delta's asian flights that pass through Narita and share a flight number with an onward US flight qualifies as a direct flight. Currently, consensus is leaning against doing so despite this article defining a direct flight as having 1 or more legs under a single flight number. The reason for why they are against is that flight numbers are periodically re-shuffled among asian destinations. For example, DL280 goes from Manila to Narita and continues on to Atlanta however on 1 June, the Manila-Narita route will be assigned flight DL617 which continues on to New York's JFK Airport. Let us clarify this case on whether Delta flights involving Narita are direct flights as far as this article is concerned for consistency. --112.201.32.153 (talk) 12:58, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Destination listing criteria in WP:AIRPORT-CONTENT has no bearing on the definitions of a "direct flight". Their basic criteria are to list nonstop and certain types of direct destinations. Clarifying this article provides no guidance to airport articles. HkCaGu (talk) 19:39, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
