This article isn't detailed enough; therefore, I shall return and finish it. I don't know much about how DO works except in Cocoa, but I think that's enough to write a decent article. BeardedCat 06:34, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edit/contribution[edit]

BeardedCat, I've cleaned the article up a little with some minor spelling/grammar corrections etc. I haven't done anything more, as I realise it's work in progress, and this is my first Wikipedia edit anyway! I'm currently studying this topic (using RMI in Java) and may wish to contribute later. Primordium 17:43, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NextStep[edit]

Weren't distributed objects invented, or at least first widely used, with NextStep, from which the current Cocoa implementation is derived? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.14.58.241 (talk) 17:24, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Martin Fowler[edit]

One should mention that Martin Fowler in "Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture" stated the „First Law of Distributed Object Design: Don’t distribute your objects!“. See http://www.drdobbs.com/errant-architectures/184414966 Distributed object is more or less an anti-pattern. --Sebastian.Dietrich (talk) 21:14, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No disrespect to Martin Fowler about practical aspects of the Software engineering but this article barely covers Category:Distributed data structures and Consistency model.
First he says "don't do this", then he explains when to do this.
Typical click-baiting and non-academical research. Ushkin N (talk) 05:17, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
