Shouldn't this articled be merged with District_of_Columbia_home_rule? --IvanStepaniuk (talk) 23:33, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would support this. Right now, it seems almost all the information is duplicated in that article, and it flows smoothly. I'll put the merge notice up, and if there's no objection within a week (per WP:MERGE guidelines) I'll redirect. MarginalCost (talk) 03:50, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I would not support this move right now. While the information is mostly duplicated in this article, major laws and Acts of Congress are considered to be notable enough to warrant their own articles. Even though the article on the Act itself is relatively small, that doesn't mean that more information could not be added about the legislative history in the run-up to passage, how the bill was passed, alternate amendments to the bill that ultimately did not make it, etc. Basically, if a Wikipedia entry is not as detailed as we like, it should be researched and fleshed out to make it more substantial; not just dumped into another article.
