• Please include Salah's time in the 1984 African Championship within the Background section. It's useful to compare to the time he ran at the Olympics.
  • Done, although apparently the information was incorrect and it was the 10,000 m run.
• The last sentence of Background needs to be altered. You use a comma but have no subject in the second half of the compound sentence. Since you included the comma, you should use a pronoun (he) within the second half of the sentence. Alternatively, it would be grammatically correct for you to remove the comma, but that would make the sentence quite long with no pauses.
  • Done
• Please wikilink Santa Monica City College (and determine whether the "City" should be there, as our article is at Santa Monica College).
  • Done, looking at the article, the talk page, and a quick google search, I didn't find anything with "City" in the title
• The fact that Robleh is the flagbearer is unsourced.

• Fix double space in second paragraph, second sentence of Athletics.

• In the second paragraph, change "beat" to "finished before". Marathon running isn't an adversarial sport, since you compete by minimizing your own time and then just compare times to obtain a ranking.

• The sourcing here isn't the best. It's fine to source things to statistics tables, but ideally, you should have some sourcing beyond that. Have you done a search for such sources in some sort of academic database? If not, I can look and see if I can find additional sources.
  • I agree. I have a hard time finding good sources around this time frame. I can check for sources again, but if you have time to look I would appreciate that as well.
• This article is quite short for a good article. If the times of athletes were not written out, it would likely fall near the 1,500 character limit for what is conventionally considered a stub. That's fine, so long as the article is comprehensive. Have you sought information about qualifications for these three athletes? Perhaps that could/should be included.
  • I sought information, and I always think it should be included, but I couldn't find anything at first. I will look again.
  • I was able to find more information and sources, but not many. The search mostly helped the other article I am working on, Djibouti at the Olympics. If you could see if you can dig anything up I would appreciate it, I have seen some marathon history books available that I do not have access to right now, as well as some articles from runners magazine I do not have access to. Let me know if you find anything good.

• @Kees08: I didn't find qualifying information, but I did find substantial background information. Apparently Djibouti had intended to potentially send athletes to the 1980 Summer Olympics but boycotted them along with the United States and many others. There's also at least one article suggesting they had reason to boycott the 1976 Olympics as well. I also found a better source to give you some of the information about the runners. @BU Rob13: I added in information on the boycotts. I am not 100% sure I understood the article on the 1976 boycott correctly. It looked like they were either joining the boycott with the other African nations (what I wrote) or they were boycotting because they wanted independence from France. I am not positive. Also, I left the title field blank because the article you sent me did not have a title. Not sure what to do with that either. Thoughts? Kees08 (talk) 20:42, 4 March 2017 (UTC)

@Kees08: Whoops, I may have misread that source entirely. I think the two things (Djibouti and the Olympics boycott) are distinct. The Djibouti "question" referred to in the article is separate from the Olympic boycott. Indeed, Djibouti would not have even been able to be in that Olympics since they were still a territory. The 1976 boycott info should be taken out; the 1980 info is perfectly fine as-is. Perhaps you should note in the "Background" when Djibouti became a new nation instead? Sources for that should be available easily online. You could then also note that the 1980 boycott prevented them from participating in the Olympics when first eligible to help explain why 1984 happened to be their first Olympics. Please separate out the background of Djibouti in the Olympics and the background of the athletes themselves into separate paragraphs, as it's currently jarring when it suddenly swaps to the athletes. ~ Rob₁₃^Talk 08:12, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

@BU Rob13: That makes more sense. I have adjusted the article to reflect that.

@Kees08: That source is less-than-reliable. It's more-or-less an encyclopedia, as it compiles data from other sources. Please either use a reliable source with a history of fact-checking or direct government sources. Also, paragraphs still need to be split in the background section (two paragraphs - one on country, one on athletes) as described above. ~ Rob₁₃^Talk 06:45, 7 March 2017 (UTC)

@Kees08: Actually, one last thing I noticed. Not going to "take back" the GA symbol over this, but please address this minor concern when you can. The dates need to be made consistent. Citations use Year, Month Date but the lead uses Date Month. It should use one or the other. ~ Rob₁₃^Talk 04:17, 8 March 2017 (UTC)

@BU Rob13: I honestly always write dates like March 7, 2017, so I am not even sure how to write in proper prose with the year first. Also I thought the citation dates had to match, and the prose dates had to match, but they didn't have to match each other? Could be wrong. Happy to fix, just want to clarify.
