Just requested Indefinite semi-protection also at WP:RFPP. Since the attacks have come back almost one year later. So I think its better to protect the page till the end of time from now on; somebody out there is very interested in making this page a promotional tool for Mr. Firtash and is likely to come back to Wikipedia just for that reason. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 18:35, 27 April 2012 (UTC) Well-brainer. Mr Firmush can not donate to any wiki admin or users. But. He has nevertheless given for Justice Oste Empire these 125 euros as He has promised that, right?4tash3 (talk) 11:42, 14 March 2015 (UTC) Would, perhaps, interesting to propose a deep political analysis for the Kontent? What would Easter-Empire Justize for the US-Armenia Justice show than the 125 required as a deposit money? A exelente humor lawyers? Car 123456734567 (talk) 14:19, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

For future reference?[edit]

Not sure of this piece of info I found on the internet belongs in this article:

Why is content of this article getting deleted?[edit]

Why is so much content of this article getting deleted today? What is the reason for this? — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 16:21, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I just incorporated into this Wikipedia article all material that User:Kdetoi inserted into the article today into the previous version (excluded parts that where obvious advertising Firtash). I hope nothing has to be mass deleted anymore. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 17:23, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Jewish ?[edit]

Is he Jewish ? (as/like the other Ukrainian "oligarchs" are) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.211.186.182 (talk) 16:59, 10 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In Wikipedia Ukrainians have been labelled as being Jewish when they were clearly not... So without a good reference I am inclined not to believe somebody is Jewish and so should the rest of the world... Being rich does not mean you are Jewish automaticly... If you look at Antisemitism_in_Ukraine#In_Independent_Ukraine... you see that people have been "accused" of being Jewish, in what appeared to be smear campaigns... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 17:46, 10 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

badly outdated![edit]

the whole article is badly outdated. most of the references, particularly for his various titles, are yushenko-era, or if you prefer, "pre-revolutionary". he apparently hasn't been in the ukraine since then (maidan 2014), & it is somewhat unclear what his reception would be if he did return; legal & otherwise.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jan/23/dmytro-firtash-ukraine-oligarch-exile-caught-between-russia-us

at the very least, it needs to be confirmed whether he's kept any of these various "leadership" positions since then, & which ones ifso.

Rachel Maddow show[edit]

The Rachel Maddow Show had a program about Firtash, which gave more of an American view than some of the sources that were used to create this entry. It's also verifiable, which many of these sources are not, and it's also in English, which is the preferred language for English Wikipedia, so that the rest of us can read it and verify it. I prefer the transcript, but you can easily find the video.

The Rachel Maddow Show 02/20/17

Pursuit of shady oligarch a test of DoJ integrity under Trump Rachel Maddow reports on the murky overlap between Ukrainian oligarch Dmitry Firtash, Vladimir Putin, and the Donald Trump campaign and alerts viewers to watch for whether the Department of Justice under Trump continues to pursue a case against Firtash.

RACHEL MADDOW, MSNBC HOST: Good evening, Chris. Thanks to you, my friend. And thanks to you at home for joining us for the next hour.

He had pet ostriches, it turns out. People didn`t know that before, but it turned out he had ostriches and he didn`t have one ostrich or two ostriches. He had a whole bunch of pet ostriches.

In fact, he had a whole zoo, like a private zoo....

An unconstructive edit[edit]

The current article highlights this quote: "Gas is also a politics". There is also a broken reference, with a name used that was never defined. How did this situation occur? For a long time, the statement was not highlighted and did not have a reference. The confusing quote, which is hard to find on Google as results tend to be copies of Wikipedia, was removed at one point during an extensive editing of this article. All those changes were removed with no explanation: (39 intermediate revisions by 8 users not shown) (No difference)

This was a lazy edit that removed many good changes. Unfortunately, it was not caught by subsequent users and all the changes would have to be redone manually. Wikipedia could be improved to discourage lazy edits like this, but that isn't the point. I didn't care to find who added the broken reference because it's reasonable to assume the article would be better without the quote entirely. I'm notifying the involved parties in case they want to fix this article. 23.121.191.18 (talk) 16:55, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Well this Wikipedia article has been in bad conditions since years and has been plagued since years by editing that I didn't understand. (See the first thread of this talkpage.) I have actually seen this Wikipedia article in worst shapes.... Thanks for pointing out that this Wikipedia article needs work; but I have not the time to do this now and I fear that if I would spend a lot of time on this Wikipedia article it will soon be in bad shape again.... As happened before after I spend a lot of time on this Wikipedia article..... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 18:36, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Name transliteration[edit]

Group DF seem to use Dmitry rather than Dmytro in English as in "The founder of Group DF is Dmitry Firtash" at https://groupdf.com/en/o-kompanii-angl/mission/ and elsewhere Дмитрий Васильевич Фирташ rather than Дмитро́ Васи́льович Фі́рташ - clearly this is a Russian / Ukrainian language thing 02:07, 12 June 2022 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C6:148A:9B01:E88A:BCBA:D355:9D82 (talk)

Sentence is missing something[edit]

I can't quite figure out whether it's just a period/comma missing or whether there's one or more words missing in the following sentence(s):

In April 2014, Firtash stated that despite the difficult conditions of doing business during Ukraine's political crisis, Ostchem enterprises, part of Ostchem Holding[32][33][34][35] The investments directed to the development and modernization of Ostchem enterprises allowed significant increases in the production capacities of Rivne Azot, Stirol Concern, and Crimea soda plant in the first quarter of 2014.
