Protection[edit]

This page needs to be protected to avoid various anonymous users' vandalism. I just reported the users about this and the protection at Requests for page protection, just a couple hours ago. -- Mike Garcia | talk 1 July 2005 19:15 (UTC)

Tracklisting[edit]

Hey Mike, I don't think you should be posting tracklisting unless they are correct.

Mike don't you think you should have the correct tracklisting before you post it on here? -- 69.165.156.111 2 July 2005 12:07 (UTC)

Yes, it's the correct track listing, see: [1] and I don't care if it's official or not. I hope you don't vandalize the page again when it's unprotected, and if you continue this bullshit again, I have no choice but to report you or get someone to ban you permanently. -- Mike Garcia | User talk:Mike Garcia 2 July 2005 14:25 (UTC)

I wish you would just have disclaimer or something to let them know this isn't official. It's not official and it's incorrect! I'm not talking out my ass I know 100% that's the wrong tracklisting. -- 69.165.156.111 2 July 2005 16:46 (UTC)

69.165.156.111 (or should I say The truth about Hephaestos, who impersonates some friend of the real Hephaestos), it doesn't matter if the tracklisting is official or not and I don't care if it's right or wrong. To me it is right. Maybe you're just being too unconvinced with any one of my sources. -- Mike Garcia | User talk:Mike Garcia 2 July 2005 18:12 (UTC)

We are at a stand off lets just wait and see and if I'm wrong I will apologize. Just trying to have the right facts up for 311 fans.

As long-time editor of the 311 category over at MusicMoz, I'm outraged at your disregard for facts. A simple glance at the News page on 311.com would tell you that there are 11 tracks on the album, not 12. The band has NOT released an official setlist, so protecting a page that is incorrect is simply ignorant. I would appreciate it if you didn't send me comments claiming I vandalized the page when all that I did was fix the Producers field and corrected the release date. Good day. -- Greenmonkey911

The correct tracklisting is up at 311.com. Check it out.

C/P'd from 311.com:
  1. Don't Tread On Me
  2. Thank Your Lucky Stars
  3. Frolic Room
  4. Speak Easy
  5. Solar Flare
  6. Waiting
  7. Long For the Flowers
  8. Getting Through to Her
  9. Whiskey And Wine
  10. It's Getting OK Now
  11. There's Always An Excuse
Can we get this unprotected and fixed now? Next time, I suggest a simple note 'this tracklist has yet to be confirmed' rather than an edit war and name-calling. KTHX.

Sounds reasonable to me. That thing about not having a name-calling edit war, I mean. Anyway, I've unprotected the page now. Good luck. Shanes 20:05, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Why 311 album?[edit]

Why does a well-known phrase go to an article about a 311 album by default? I would argue that the phrase and its origin are more important than some contemporary and soon to be forgotten band. --jivy 21:35, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

~~Soon to be forgotten, i'm sure. Maybe you should research into the band first before you actually make such claims? This band has been around for over a decade, and is internationally famous, they had mainstream status before going back underground, but they have huge concerts once a year that have them playing over 60+ songs within 5 hours, a feat that probably less than 2% of bands alive today could ever hope to physically pull off. Soon to be forgotton? I doubt it. --User:DeepBlueVibes 23:38, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wilhelm Reich...?[edit]

"Speak Easy" was inspired by the studies of Wilhelm Reich. Could someone explain that some more? I found that and all the people at www.taiyedbrodels.com (a 311 fan site) are wondering about it. I appreciate your hard work, big up!

I added a link to the official "inside look" SA and Nick took to the album. It will clear up that question and any others about some of the claims they made. 71.232.46.215 16:40, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can we delete the metacritic mention?[edit]

I knew that 'Don't Tread on Me' was on Metacritic's 100 lowest albums, but it isn't anymore. It isn't likely to get any more (good or bad) reviews, so it is unlikely that it will re-enter the 'top' 100 at any point. I would delete it, but I'm new to this (but not the internets), so I don't want to mess up. Interval816 (talk) 15:30, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
