Dowland (disambiguation)Dowland – While the composer dominates in a Google search, its unlikely that many people searching in an encyclopedia would use just "Dowland". Most of the links that get linked to Dowland are for the village in Devon (example). Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:47, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose mononym, see books In ictu oculi (talk) 21:47, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose I'd look for "Dowland" just as for "Byrd" or "Beethoven". Martin of Sheffield (talk) 23:39, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose "Dowland" is commonly associated with the composer. Links to Dowland intended for Dowland, Devon are a matter of oversight when linking, little else. Hrodvarsson (talk) 02:29, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per In ictu oculi, Martin of Sheffield and Hrodvarsson.    Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 05:03, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per others. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 18:23, 23 January 2019 (UTC) Flow, my tears...[reply]
  • Oppose per all of the above. Also note that the redirect has been in place for 14 years. We would need an extremely convincing argument to change it when it has been stable for so long. --Deskford (talk) 20:11, 23 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Post-close comment[edit]

I fixed links on 11 pages to the composer and 5 for the village so actually not most (as I probably incorrectly stated above) of the links but quite a few are for the village. Crouch, Swale (talk) 22:04, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
