Hello--

Here are some suggestions for future edits.

The article lacks numerous citations. There are numerous facts that go un-cited, particularly in the introduction and within the biography. There are two books listed within “Sources” that appear as though they may contain significant information on Duccio, but neither of these books is cited more than once. The article mentions archives that contain many traces of Duccio’s life, but provides no link to the archives or to a source which describes the archives. It may simply be a matter of reviewing the article and adding in more citations from these books, or more sources may be needed. One of the hyperlinks for citations also doesn’t work and should be updated.

Additionally, the lack of citations means that some of the statements within the article, which may be facts, come across as value judgements or editorial comments made by the author. For example, the quote “In the 14th century Duccio became one of the most favored and radical painters in Siena,” may be an accepted fact by major art historians, but without a citation it is only the views of the article’s author. Additionally, words such as “awe-inspiring” reveal bias, without providing useful information about Duccio's style.

The article focuses heavily on describing his style. The article would benefit from attempts to flesh out his biography a bit more. It mentions things about his life are unconfirmed, but the author could list some of those facts after mentioning they may be inaccurate or just speculation. Additionally, although the article goes into detail about his artistic style, it doesn't analyze his style's development or how his style manifests within a particular painting. Since the article mentions his “two major works” it would benefit from sections focused on those paintings. These sections would be an opportunity to illustrate what the author of the article explains broadly in the “Style” section of the article. Although there are separate articles on many of his works, if some of the information from these articles was integrated into this Wikipedia page on the artist it would strengthen the article.

Finally, The article has a comprehensive list of Duccio’s “known surviving works” but earlier in the article it states that there are only 13 surviving works. This contradiction is confusing to the reader. The article could also use some additional editing focused on improving the writing.

Best
