Unintelligible sentence[edit]

Under the Chinook Writing heading is this sentence: "The Chinook writing is not able by the absence of affixes and word signs, the phonological rigor - vowels were not omitted, even when predictable - and its use of W-vowels." I can make no sense of this. I suspect that a clause is missing after "able" but I can't correct it since I really don't know what the intended meaning is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mnudelman (talkcontribs) 00:47, 19 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not an error, just an errant space. "not able" should be "notable". The editor inserted some random spaces, and I thought I had caught them all. --User:Vanisaac —Preceding undated comment added 03:02, 19 June 2011 (UTC).[reply]

High priority?[edit]

I like Duployan as much as the next script maven, but did you get consensus from the WikiProject on Writing Systems on this, or were you just asserting it? Ogham for instance has only Mid-importance. (And is very important to me.) -- Evertype· 09:16, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It seemed to be equivalent to several scripts (Nsibidi, Rongorongo, Cretan Heiroglyphs, &c.) that were classified as "high". I was tying to be thorough - I initially classified it "mid" - but I found that the mids seemed to be national alphabets, transliterations, individual symbols, and scripts found on only a few archaeological finds, without modern descendents. In other words, I would have classified Ogham as High as well. I'd like to get this settled, so I'll start up a conversation on the talk page and see if anyone bites. have examples of use on native graveyard markers[edit]

recently thanks to a local history FB group, I came across some pics of an old St'at'imc graveyard on Seton Lake where the headstones are clearly in Duployan/Kamloops Wawa.....haven't had time to decipher them, if someone here is an adept with the shorthand, please use "email this user" and I'll send them to you for deciphering.Skookum1 (talk) 05:20, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
