Place of Birth[edit]

Where was Dustin Tokarski born? In Watson or in Humboldt? This wiki page says Watson in the info box, but Humboldt in the person data. It seems to me that most official web pages list Humboldt, for example the following:

http://theahl.com/stats/player.php?id=3314
http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8474682
http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/player.htm?id=8474682&service=page
http://www.hamiltonbulldogs.com/team/roster/

The wiki page on the Hamilton Bulldogs also says Humboldt.

But then there are articles saying that he is from Watson:

http://www.sha.sk.ca/news/685-dustin-tokarski-watson-sk-to-attend-hockey-canada-program-of-excellence-camp.html
http://www.discoverhumboldt.com/index.php?option=com_content&id=4925&Itemid=173

Does anyone know the details? Was he born in Humboldt (population 5700) but grew up and lived in Watson (population 800)? If so, we should probably change the place of birth. Dirk YUL (talk) 15:32, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This appears to be a confusion between birthplace and hometown. Given how small Watson is, I would be surprised if the community has a hospital, and on that basis I would be led to trust Humboldt as being his birthplace. Watson is clearly his hometown, however, and is something I would suggest making mention of in an "early life" section that precedes his playing career. Resolute 15:39, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That's exactly what I was thinking. Would be good to find a confirmation somewhere. Dirk YUL (talk) 15:56, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I found two useful references, a detailed one in French (Journal de Montreal) and a brief one in English (CBC), and I changed the article.
And here is a really nice piece of "journalism." The Montreal edition of métro writes in an article titled Tokarsqui? Translation: Tokarski was born in Humboldt or in Watson, Saskatchewan. That depends on the website that you consult. However, Humboldt sounds funny and is hard to write, so we'll go with that.
