Based on[edit]

There have been a couple of attempts to add "barely" to "based on" in the lead section. First of all, "based on" is neutral terminology in that it does not imply "loosely based on" or "strong based on". The comic book is the source material, and discussion of the degree of the adaptation needs to be verifiable with references. In a search engine test, I found multiple results using just "based on" and nothing with modifiers like "barely". I looked for other terms like "loosely adapted", but I have yet to see coverage that will help us identify the accuracy. For the sake of comparison, we should ensure that the comic book's article explains its premise well and that the film's article explains its premise just as well. Readers can draw whatever conclusions they may wish from the different media's summaries. Erik (talk | contribs) 14:20, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

From a Dylan Dog fan perspective[edit]

It actually just (ab)uses the look and name of famous comic. There are no more similarities, so it can be loosely based on at the best. I even wonder how they got license to use the name bearing how little resemblence to original it has. Way better look to Dylanog Doguesque way of making horror is Cemetary Man (Dellamorte Dellamore) even it doesn`t use the name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.87.72.186 (talk) 17:45, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
