Fair use rationale for Image:Mistress of spices skill100.jpg[edit]

Image:Mistress of spices skill100.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Memories[edit]

I miss the West Fourth Street Saloon...165.97.69.26 (talk) 14:03, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Early life and personal life... and then ? Career and career credits are almost identical. This is really a strange article. MW9123 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.219.168.18 (talk) 20:04, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

I admit I'm not really sure if he actually legally changed his name from Mark to Dylan. According to this video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpa1yqlFhbA at about 4:25, it's sort of unclear, but he does say "took the name" so...Sro23 (talk) 07:20, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Supposed "legal name change" not in article? Why?[edit]

Okay, if you say that Mark "legally changed his first name to 'Dylan'," then why isn't that written anywhere in the article and cited? 2600:100E:B108:359F:2855:2189:4343:D428 (talk) 07:22, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Because sockpuppet edits are automatically reverted. Cheers. --Ebyabe talk - Health and Welfare ‖ 07:24, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

NO. That's not the reason that no mention of a legal name change, as falsely claimed by sro23, is made in this article, vandal. 2600:100E:B108:359F:2855:2189:4343:D428 (talk) 07:32, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

According to this:http://www.tvguide.com/celebrities/dylan-mcdermott/bio/148251, "Had to change his first name when he registered..." there lies the issue, the wording too vague. Did he legally change his name or is Dylan McDermott just a stage name (or screen name, ugh) for the Screen Actors Guild? Sro23 (talk) 07:33, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Just so you know per WP:BLPPRIMARY, we can only use public records to support reliable secondary sources.Sro23 (talk) 07:42, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not so sure that's convincing enough to be a good enough reason to change his name legally. I think that just means changing it "stage-wise." Can we keep it as "Mark Anthony 'Dylan' McDermott" until we see if it was indeed a legalized change? 2600:100E:B108:359F:2855:2189:4343:D428 (talk) 07:50, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know either, but changing it to what you want it to be would be considered WP:PROXYING, so I won't do it. I'm sure someone with the energy and resources will be able to resolve this issue soon enough, but until then, the world isn't going to explode even if the article doesn't follow the MOS 100%. Sro23 (talk) 07:58, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
OK, @Sro23:, but the article already was in nickname format before you reverted it last. So what would have been "wrong" with just leaving it that way even though you've even reverted your own edits in this vein like that?
Actually, if it's a legal name change, then this would fit MoS. If not, but the performer left his/her last name the same, then the MoS format for that is the nickname format. So why not just leave it like that until we know it was legal for sure (especially since all you'd have to have done is left it or self-reverted, both of which are allowed actions)? 2600:100E:B108:359F:2855:2189:4343:D428 (talk) 08:18, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
