"It is possible to make dynamic relaxation more computationally efficient (reducing the number of iterations) by using damping"

Damping is a requirement for dynamic relaxation, not to make it 'more computationally efficient.' Without damping, the system will continue to oscillate and preserve the total kinetic/potential energy in the system. 86.9.78.134 (talk) 08:58, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
