BitPay section[edit]
Hi AndyTheGrump, I'd like to address the revert you made on my section about BitPay which you said contained blatant advertising. At least a mention of a Bitcoin E-commerce payment system in this page is fair enough as Bitcoin is relatively new and not everyone knows how to accept bitcoins. BitPay lets people accept bitcoin at no cost (unlike PayPal and Google wallet) and is a very useful service that many people may be unaware of. To simply revert the whole section on BitPay is unfair when competing companies (like PayPal and Google wallet) which do charge fees are allowed to remain.Leotheleo (talk) 15:07, 7 June 2015 (UTC) "Information about companies and products must be written in an objective and unbiased style, free of puffery... - If you wish material on BitPay to be added to the article, you will need to demonstrate that it has had significant coverage in third-party sources discussing E-commerce payment systems - Wikipedia doesn't base content inclusion on supposed 'fairness', and nor does in include content simply because a contributor considers it useful. - Hi Andy, I apologise for not discussing this before making the edit. There is ample press coverage that discuss BitPay as being a leader in Bitcoin E-commerce. TechCrunch wrote that BitPay is one of the largest bitcoin companies around[2]The Wall Street Journal wrote an article on BitPay raising $30 million, "valuing the bitcoin-payments processor at about $160 million in the biggest venture-capital investment in the digital-currency industry."[3]Leotheleo (talk) 05:36, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

Bitcoin section[edit]
Hi AndyTheGrump, "Bitcoin is a decentralized digital virtual currency." should be "Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency" or "Bitcoin is a decentralized virtual currency" but it's a mouthful to say digital and virtual in the same sentence. Actually, to say Bitcoin is a currency is also not quite accurate as it is not an ISO standardized currency. How does this work for you?: "Bitcoin is a decentralized digital online payment system." - I'm sure my wording could be improved - but the problem with 'decentralized digital online payment system' is that it omits the central point about BitCoin, as compared to normal payment systems, in that it is also a virtual currency (or at least, it isn't a payment system which involves recognised currency). 'Decentralized virtual currency' works though, and thinking about it 'virtual' implies 'digital' in this context anyway. AndyTheGrump (talk) 00:41, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
Internation e-payment and local preferences[edit]
I noticed it is hard to find informations on international payment in e-commerence. especily local differneces in payment behavior (for countries without wide spread use of credit cards. For my this information sems to be very importat as user and as a person which could get internation e payment, so this page only reflects the use of credit cards (mainly US and UK) but doesn't provide inforation on other methode such as SEPA. As fr as I have found credit card are not wide spread used in many contries of the world, but I have no exact number. But I am curios about this. 79.242.145.197 (talk) 17:15, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
Substantial lead rework[edit]
With the pre-existing lead there were substantive issues with both tone and coverage. I wasn't trying to achieve great, but merely to put this on a footing less intimidating for subsequent rework.
I only removed one passage that perhaps warrants restoration:
In the meantime,[when?] the use of smartcards has become extremely popular.[citation needed] A smartcard is similar to a credit card; however it contains an embedded 8-bit microprocessor and uses electronic cash which transfers from the consumers' card to the sellers' device.
(Both of the editorial flags were mine, before I decided to excise these sentences completely.)
