Agree. There should be a wikipedia article for "EOSIO" (this one, which is about the blockchain software), and a new wikipedia article for "EOS" which is the blockchain using the EOSIO software.

It is definitely misleading. A more accurate statement would be something like "computing resources are distributed in proportion to the number of tokens staked for each of the two renewable resources, CPU and Network." Brock Pierce[edit]

Why isn't Brock Pierce even mentioned in article?? What's up with EOS? - Brock Pierce Interviewed by Roger Ver video (uploaded by "Bitcoin.com - Official Channel" on Oct 28, 2019) at YouTube has thumbnail (aka preview image) of "Exclusive interview with Brock Pierce co-founder of EOS". Brock was included in article once (perhaps more than once), but was removed with this edit in 2018 April with edit summary of a story at fortune.com that "Block.one" had parted way with Brock. But that fortune.com story also said Brock Pierce had "co-founded" the startup Block.one which was "developing blockchain platform EOS", so i think article should include him in the block.one section of this Wikipedia article. --EarthFurst (talk) 02:45, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Change intro of EOS.io to better reflect the relation between block.one, EOS and EOS.io[edit]

What I think should be changed:

"EOS.IO is a blockchain protocol based on the cryptocurrency EOS."

On the faq for EOS.io it states: "EOSIO is a highly performant open-source blockchain platform, built to support safe, compliant, and predictable digital infrastructures. It supports public networks such as EOS, Telos, and WAX, and private networks alike. EOSIO is fast, flexible, and forward-driven, enabling developers, entrepreneurs, co-creators, and institutions to build and innovate with confidence." which more or less aligns with B1 statement on their about page.

Removing all the corporate/advertising speak it basically boils down to the following:

Change it to:

"EOS.IO is a blockchain protocol built by block.one that allows people to build their own cryptocurrency token and governance.

Why it should be changed:

This makes it seem as if EOS.io is relying on EOS for it to work, which is factually wrong. The EOS.io framework allows for different cryptocurrencies such as EOS, Telos and WAX to build on top of EOS.io. I get that the naming convection is very confusing but having wrong information on the wiki page for said protocol/product makes it even more confusing.
