Apparent hoax removed[edit]

The old version [1] of this article appears to have been a hoax, and not a very well-written one. So I wrote the article I came here looking for. If the other version can actually be substantiated at all, we can do a disambig or something - David Gerard 14:42, 8 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I had previously made the 'EXA' page .. the page didn't exist yet the group did so, no need for justification. What I want to say is though, what was poorly-written? Care to aid my Wikipedia skills by explaining? I've written some not so flimsy pages and would hope they were up to scratch you see! --SeanT 22:10, 20 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

'EXA is considered a stopgap measure to improve X.Org Server performance before the server is moved entirely to OpenGL.' This is not quite true. The AIGLX project is adding support for indirect GL to x.org. This will use EXA and provide the same accelerated features using a mature codebase. The XGL project intends to replace x.org with a completely new X11 implementation written in OpenGL. This currently lacks things like the Xv extension. The latter group would agree with the quoted statement, but the former would disagree. This seems to fail the neutral point of view requirements of Wikipedia. - David Chisnall 137.44.2.39 13:38, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

EXA Acronym[edit]
