Untitled[edit]

I have placed the section below here, since it is not obviously on-topic, and elsewhere in the article is a caveat on identification of Eadrics of the period. Since the article mentions no children, it seems somewhat "wild" to jump to the Weld family or anyone else. Detailed and significant information is required: we don't include family history just for the sake of it. Charles Matthews (talk) 05:39, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Modern Descendants[edit]

The modern direct descendants of Eadric the Wild, and thus the House of Wessex, are the Weld's and other families descended from this lineage, the modern descendants can be found living namely in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the USA and of course the United Kingdom. The book "A Genealogical and Heraldic History of the Landed Gentry," by John Burke traces this descendancy, showing the Welds as one of the most ancient families of the modern world.

Byname[edit]

In Hume's History of England, Eadric is named 'Edric the Forester'. Philologick (talk) 04:53, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
