Split in two[edit]

My proposal is to split this article in two by either years or years and months seeing the article is getting up there and will top 300,000 characters I think this would help make the article more easy to navagate. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 21:49, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Do you want to go ahead with the idea we talked about a few months ago, and create Pre-2012 statewide opinion polling for the United States presidential election, 2012? I think that would be good for two reasons: it would be about an even split with what's on this page right now, and it's just a very straightforward way to divide things. I'm thinking we'll need to keep backfilling this page in the next few weeks, because I'm sure the polling will ramp up to a fever pitch in the battleground states. —Torchiest talkedits 22:36, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I agree about the polls ramping up and agree on backfilling but if I go ahead and make Pre-2012 statewide opinion polling for the United States presidential election, 2012, what happens to this article? Do you think this one should get a name change as well? - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 22:52, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm... could we change it to Early 2012 statewide opinion polling for the United States presidential election, 2012? We'll just have to put top notes on all the pages pointing back and forth. —Torchiest talkedits 22:53, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
BTW I'm done editing for now. I thought I could go up from the bottom converting tables without having problems but there was an edit conflict somehow (I was able to save my changes after recopying them in), so I'll leave you to it. —Torchiest talkedits 22:55, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay and sounds good, while I am not big on 2012 used twice the issue can always be revisited later. Do you want to create the Pre-2012 article? This way both of us can work on making the columns (I can rename this article). - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 22:57, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay I will make the article then there are a bunch of columns that need to be done though - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 23:23, 12 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
