I have a picture of the station name, I think. --Blue icicle (talkcontribs) 05:51, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jerry Springer's birthplace[edit]

I have doubts about Jerry Springer being born in East Finchley station. The article on Jerry Springer cites this source claiming that his mother was using the station as an air raid shelter. Being above ground, East Finchley does not seem ideal as a shelter. Mtford 00:26, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I also wish to question the birthplace of Jerry Springer, as recent press articles have stated that the only children to be born on London Underground are as follows:

A 32-year-old woman has given birth to what is believed to be the first baby boy to be born on the London Underground.

Michelle Jenkins, of Barking, went into labour while travelling on the Jubilee Line on Tuesday.

.... [snip] ...

Last December, Julia Kowalska became the second person to give birth on the underground. Baby Jennifer was born at 2135 on 19 December.

TfL said the only other recorded birth on the underground was in 1924 when Marie Cordery was born at Elephant & Castle.

White Lion pub[edit]

I very much like the work that has been done recently on this article. I was thinking that we should perhaps mention that the White Lion was, as I understand it, moved down the road a bit to make room for the Northern Heights work. If I can find an RS ... ? It would probably be more accurate to say that an earlier pub was demolished and a replacement built slightly down the road. Pre-war OS maps show a pub as being closer to the station, although it was a very different building (see this image). The southern of the three bridges across the road which carries the northbound tube line from Highgate encroaches on the location of the old pub, which was built right against the railway bridge.
I have a couple of facts to find good sources for and then I will be nominating it as a good article.
