Townships[edit]

I accidentally hit the enter key before finishing my reasons, so here we go:

I deleted the "thirteen townships" because, as far as I can see, the New England usage of "township" is an unorganized area, which usage would correspond to East Hancock, not to pieces thereof. Anyone with a source otherwise? Nyttend (talk) 12:00, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All of unorganized/unincorporated Maine is divided into survey townships. Areas that were never really settled do not have township names. East Hancock UT is not a single township but a contiguous area of unincorporated land composed of multiple townships. The 13 townships of the East Hancock UT are:
  • T7 SD
  • T9 SD
  • T10 SD
  • T16 MD
  • T22 MD
  • T28 MD
  • T34 MD
  • T35 MD
  • T39 MD
  • T40 MD
  • T41 MD
  • T3 ND
  • T4 ND
