Shang or pre-dynastic China?[edit]

Hello! Are you sure Fu Sinian is talking about the Shang-dynasty in his theory and not about the time before dynasties were established? Guss2 08:32, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rename this article[edit]

The name of this article is awkward and should be renamed into something that makes sense in English.--Niohe 15:48, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe East Yi West Xia Theory? Guss2 15:56, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not comfortable with this mix of English and Chinese, it does not make sense for users who do not know any Chinese. Someone should read up an English translation of Fu Sinian's work and check whether there is a better name. I have seen somehing like "theory of plural origins of Chinese civilization," but that's tad long.--Niohe 15:59, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As a matter of fact it is not a theory about plural origins, but about dual origins of Chinese civilization. A name like "theory of plural origins of Chinese civilization" should be used for quxi leixing 區系類型, a theory published by Su Bingqi in 1979. Guss2 16:29, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK, something containing dual origins, then.--Niohe 16:42, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe this one? Theories about the origins of Chinese civilization, though a long name also. It could describe the historiography from the traditional view of the importance of the centre, the theory by Fu Sinian (and Liang Siyong), the nuclear area hypothese by K.C. Chang and finally the hypothesis by Su Bingqi, which is the prevailing theory at the moment. Guss2 16:46, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
