Growth figures for 2008-2009[edit]

From article:

"However, the GDP of Estonia decreased by 1.4% in the 2nd quarter of 2008, over 3% in the 3rd quarter of 2008, and over 9% in the 4rd quarter of 2008. The Estonian economy further contracted by 15.1% in the first quarter of 2009.[8][9]"

First of all, I cannot find the 9% figure in the linked articles, nor the 3% figure.

Second, the article says that the economy "further contracted by 15.1%", as if the economy fell with 15,1% in addition to the 1.4% + 3% + 9%, to a total of 28.5% . At least the 15,1 % figure is on a year-on-year basis. That is, it compares the first quater of 2009, not with the last quater of 2008, but to the first quater of 2008. Thus, it did not fall in addition to the 2nd-4th quater of 2008, as these figures are already in the year-on-year number. Maybe the 2008 numbers are also on a year-on-year basis. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.59.212.98 (talk) 19:36, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

These numbers are probably year-on-year basis. Feel free to correct the article. --Martintg (talk) 23:05, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Right. Unfortunately, it's rather common in Estonian business reporting, but both inflation, cost of living and economic growth numbers, "%" is often used reported monthly or quartedly but used to mean not *relative* change but *speed* of change, with the real unit being %/a. Adoption of euro[edit]

There is nothing on the adoption of euro, in this article or the Economy section under Estonia. Perhaps it would be relevant to include it in both articles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.108.212.234 (talk) 17:50, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That was fixed; I've added a reasonably comprehensive section. -Mardus /talk 05:33, 9 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Removed dubious source[edit]

Removed this:

Estonia's 1990 GDP per capita was $10,733 compared[1] to $26,100 for Finland.

— as this must be some kind of a comma mistake, given, that Estonia's GDP per capita was at least 100 times lower. -Mardus /talk
