Where is he now?[edit]

Has he dropped off the face of the earth? 74.190.138.181 (talk) 22:34, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Most votes for a Libertarian?[edit]

News is still breaking I guess, but it sounds like Gary Johnson just beat his record in this 2012 election. Probably a changing of phrasing is in order... 50.77.230.161 (talk) 08:58, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Photo[edit]

I may have located a free-content photo of Ed Clark this morning. Trouble is, I gave up on WP:MCQ years and years ago, following a repeated pattern of their regulars giving me answers solely for the sake of saying they answered my queries, all the while saying nothing useful whatsoever. One such question had to do with determining the copyright status of material published after 1977 without a copyright notice. If anyone can offer such help in the case a book published in 1981 without a copyright notice, please let me know. RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 23:58, 20 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ed ClarkEd Clark (libertarian politician) – No WP:PTOPIC. Though he has a slight edge in page views, no "Ed" or "Edward Clark" is more likely than all others to be sought out. In addition to Ed Clark (photographer) and Ed Clark (baseball), Edward Clark (Australian politician) and Edward Clark (artist) both also go by Ed. page views, more page views Schierbecker (talk) 08:52, 25 January 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. ModernDayTrilobite (talkcontribs) 14:56, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak support as some may not commonly use "Ed" rather than "Edward". Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:32, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • And why is that? Because he's been out of the spotlight for decades? I can't think of any other excuse. The encyclopedia already has plenty of articles which are terribly named on account of a lack of willingness to find contemporary sources and instead lazily defaulting to Google results. • CommentWP:AT is a policy, not a guideline or essay, so it's supposed to be given greater weight. It's been repeatedly violated for many years in the case of political biographies, especially by editors who simply repeat what other editors do rather than educate themselves about site policy. Even if valid arguments exist in favor of this move, are we paying heed to the policy's strong suggestion that 1) parenthetical disambiguation is intended to be a last resort, not a first resort, and 2) when parenthetical disambiguators are used, they should be as short as possible? • Oppose. Does appear to be the primary topic for people known as Ed (rather than Edward) Clark. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:48, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment from nominator I wonder if Edward Clark (artist) should be moved to Ed Clark (artist). His own website and at least some sources call him Ed. [1] [2]. Schierbecker (talk) 16:03, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per Necrothesp and WP:COMMONNAME. Sal2100 (talk) 17:32, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per Necrothesp and Sal2100. The Edward Clark disambiguation page currently lists only two other men named "Ed Clark", thus confirming that, even if Edward Clark (artist) is ultimately moved to Ed Clark (artist), the presidential candidate who received nearly a million votes in the general election would remain primary for the name "Ed Clark". —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 02:07, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per historical significance (Wikipedia does not take into account - hopefully - the lessening of remembrance of someone's societal contributions over time). Randy Kryn (talk) 16:24, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
