removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 00:12, 21 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of sexual harassment allegations[edit]

A user is removing sexual harassment and forgery allegations published in the Los Angeles Times on Sotelo. The Times obviously meets WP:RS as a mainstream newspaper, and the harassment allegation go to why he was removed from the air and the forgery allegations are for one of his key initiatives, for comprehensive immigration reform - in other words this was not about some personal issue that is irrelevant to why he is notable. I can only conclude this is whitewashing and so any further changes to remove this information will be reverted. Calwatch (talk) 06:49, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not whitewashing, I'm trying to keep the article balanced. All of the detail gives far too much weight to his firing. Even with my trimming the article is over 50% about the firing. The weight given to the details strikes me as recentism. Also, since these allegations are to my knowledge unproven, this entry doesn't need to go into great detail in regards to the sexual harassment claim per WP:BLP. The claim is still there, it's still in the article, and if people want to track down the details, we have a source they can read. I honestly can't see much justification for an article about a current, living, public figure to be weighted so that 50% of what we have written about this man has to be about one event that's happened in the last couple of months. Be fair. If you care about writing this biographical article, I'm sure that you'll be willing to expand other aspects of this article so that the unproven allegations aren't the dominating presence in the article. If all you care about is making a recent scandal the most prominent part of this man's biography, I think you should probably move on to something different to edit. see below this should be addressed for NPOV. MoviePhan (talk) 00:22, 30 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Neutral POV[edit]

Although noted above, the lack of NPOV in this article does not appear to have been addressed, and remains excessively negatively skewed for BLP. I suggest additional sourcing of material and re-writing this article to be more of an encyclopedic entry. MoviePhan (talk) 00:22, 30 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I significantly re-wrote this article to make it NPOV, more encyclopedic, and to include current information and significantly more sources. The section on allegations was reduced as there were never charges filed (that I could find) and we should be careful in regards to WP:BLP and WP:CRIME MoviePhan (talk) 00:27, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
