Some hint of a clue wha this show is about?[edit]

Either the lead needs to be expanded or a new section written explaining what this show is about. “Reality series” covers a lot of ground, from actually documenting real life to placing people in articicial situations and seeing how they react, to completely scripted material shot in the style of reality TV. As written the article gives the reader no clue at all what this show is, it might as well be called “List of Edge of Alaska episodes” because that is all it is. I see the {{lead}} tag was removed by @Koala15: without any explanation or attempt to actually address this issue. I have put it back as the problem is still very glaring. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:10, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
There are a number of items on the web that would be useful in the development of this article, such as:
As to how much the show is "reality": my overall impression is that this series is based on fact, with some dramatisation, rehearsal, scripting and multiple takes.
I am not sure how much time I will be putting into working on the article itself at the moment.

"Lead section... may need to be rewritten" tag - remove?[edit]

Currently the article as a "lead section of this article may need to be rewritten" maintenance tag, dated 2018. I have read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Lead_section but I cannot see how exactly what needs doing about it. To me the lead looks suitable for the article: it is a short article with a short lead. Unless anyone can significantly improve the lead, I suggest that the tag is removed.
