July 2013[edit]

Let's get a few things straight, Eheditor:

  • A light touch is often ideal when editing. This is a biography, not a CV; consequently, not all CV-style details will be important. Undergraduate and PhD degrees, yes. The kind of filling with which Romanian politicians love to inflate their credentials, not so much.
  • In a similar vein, readers are probably not interested in the precise title Hellvig held at the polling firm, or the name of the firm, so long as it doesn't have an article of its own at Wikipedia. Same goes for committee names - in every biography of a Romanian politician, something like "Defense, Public Order and National Security Committee" gets trimmed to "defense committee". Stick to essentials.
  • The infobox is not for listing every single position ever held. Legislative and ministerial office, as a rule.
  • Readers do not need micro-paragraphs; they can handle a few sentences on end as long as the paragraph is coherent. And if a paragraph is broken up, it must include a citation at the end.
  • If you'd checked Category:Romanian politicians, you would have seen no one is placed directly in that category, since everyone is fitted into subcategories. Hellvig fits into five political subcategories; there is no need at all for him to be in the main one.
  • Please see WP:COI. You are either Hellvig himself or, more likely, one of his employees. That has implications for your editing here. - Biruitorul Talk 14:35, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

October 2013[edit]

Since User:Popescu ionica refused to reply to objections from Biruitorul and instead she just kept reverting to her version, I have temporarily protected the page. I don't support this or the other version and I will unprotect the page if any constructive discussion follows. bogdan (talk) 18:10, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

February 2014[edit]

I was a bit puzzled to see User:DerHexer remove references to Hellvig's run-in with the National Integrity Agency. Yes, the case has not reached a final verdict, but precisely what policy indicates that should be the threshold for mentioning legal issues? By that standard, this section should not exist - indeed, McDonnell is only facing charges that have not yet been adjudicated by a court, while the accusations against Hellvig were upheld by an appellate court ruling almost a year ago.

Any policy-based clarification would be appreciated. - Biruitorul Talk 19:47, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
