School districts[edit]

The school districts section needs to be updated. For one thing, there are more than four types of school districts in Maine. Larger cities and towns often have municipal school departments (in which they are not partnered with another city or town). Some towns that previously had municipal school departments, as well as some towns that were previously part of a school administrative district, are now part of a regional school unit (RSU). And there is a new type of quasi-district called an Alternative Organizational Structure (AOS). So that would make seven types of districts, not four. I'll be happy to work on this section at some point when I'm not busy fighting vandals, but if anyone wants to get started ahead of me, please feel free. :-) –BMRR (talk) 01:50, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
