Photo Orientation[edit]

Wouldn't it make sense to rotate the photo 90 degrees counter-clockwise so that north is up? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.171.55.138 (talk) 03:40, 4 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I found what I think is a better image of the Edwards Plateau and added some labels to help orient readers. However, I am real new to Wiki editing, and don't have time at the moment to work out how to add it to the article. I'll try to get to it this weekend. If someone else wants to do it first, the file is at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Edwards_Plateau.png. LevyRat (talk) 22:09, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Six years have passed, so I helped you to use the better image, which is also public domain from NASA and in Wikipedia Commons. Nearly all of the plateau is in the photo, and the top is North. The escarpment is easily recognized on the East and South, and the indistinct North and West boundaries are also in view.Astrojed (talk) 02:48, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Flora[edit]

This article should have no reference to the California fan palm as it is found nowhere near this region naturally. Source material cited elsewhere states basically that, except for the California fan palm, all palms native to the continental United States are found east of the Balcones Fault. Its does not claim that this plant is naturally found here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.225.0.38 (talk) 03:36, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I support your argument to not mention the California fan palm. If this topic were a stem about native palms, then yes, but without further content concerning other native palms it should be deleted. Carlton Colmenares (talk) 15:44, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Counties in the Edwards Plateau[edit]

There is a mismatch between the source and this section for which counties comprise the area. Our wiki mentions Bell, while the source does not. The source on the other hand mentions Burnet twice, which might be why they are missing one. Is the source or this wiki wrong? Rasmus.87 (talk) 16:58, 2 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I added additional reference from Texas Water Development Board, a state government agency listing additional counties. Also I added a map from the previously referenced Texas Parks And Wildlife Department showing a larger Edwards Plateau Ecoregion with more counties than the Geographic region list.

Many other references give different maps and different boundaries, some from universities each for their own purposes, giving me cause to focus on governing agencies. Boundaries are not well defined in the West And North and official agencies are not in agreement. Astrojed (talk) 01:49, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Placement on the Map of North America[edit]

The map of North America does not show the full extent of the Edwards Plateau, only the eastern portion that is sometimes described as the Hill County.Astrojed (talk) 01:56, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
