The Phelps Dodge company did not become a corporation until both its namesakes died. James Douglas took over as president of the company in 1908 and created the Phelps Dodge Corporation, a public company. Additional spurs, depots[edit]

I do not believe I have adequately captured the EPSW's western expansion well at all. The railroad extended to Tucson, but other than that I do not know which spurs or other lines it developed. It may well have gone beyond Tucson, but I am at a loss here. My sources are too general to fully document this, and perhaps someone else with better information can help edit the article up to Class B status. - Tim1965 (talk) 01:54, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Changes of October 7, 2008[edit]

I am unclear as to why the changes of October 7, 2008, were made. Specific information was removed (such as dates), and identifying and/or qualifying information (such as pointing out that a state road was in one state and not another) was deleted. Additionally, the category changes do not make sense to me: Many corporations are named one thing at their inception, but better known by another name for most of their history.
