Galvanic cells compared to electrolytic cells[edit]

Under "Galvanic cells compared to electrolytic cells" it says that "a galvanic cell must use dissimilar metals" but this is not true. A galvanic cell could also use the same metal but with different ion concentrations in solution, or maybe even with only a difference in the solution medium (ionic strength, complexing agents, etc.)

The point is that the galvanic reaction is caused by different electronegativities of the metals to the ionic solutions, using the same metal limits the usefulness of the difference in electronegativity, there is more info on the galvanic cell article and if you wanted to raise this point on that talk page it would be more appropriate there.Jonathan888 (talk) 18:34, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Should this be labelled a stub?[edit]

I don't mean to seem rude but in terms of comparing it to pages such as the galvatronic cell it's not as flash... does anybody agree? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.237.58.235 (talk) 07:49, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Copy edit tag[edit]

I reviewed this entire article and tweaked it where needed. I don't see essential edits needed so I removed the copy edit tag.Coaster92 (talk) 05:54, 23 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cells section is off topic[edit]

The "Cells" section is off topic because it is not about electrolytic cells but about other types of electrochemical cells. It could therefore appear in a "see also" template at the top of the artcile. Thomaszwilling (talk) 19:01, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Clarifying Third Sentence[edit]

I thought the third sentence could be more clear and made what I felt were minor changes. EEguy100 (talk) 22:06, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
