Elenita has read this article and it's upset about it. She didn't like it at all. Especially where they said "Polish-Mexican", she's just Mexican, she says. She doesn't agree with the Iturbide "chafa" last name (of emperor's wanabe). She said they should read her soon to come, updated autobiography.

The Mexico City daily newspaper, La Jornada, did not begin publication until 1984. Ms. Poniatowska established her career as a journalist no later than the late 1950s; her book Todo Mexico, a collection of her journalistic work containing interviews with leading cultural figures in Mexico, consists of pieces written in the 1960s. She obviously begun her journalistic career with another newspaper, perhaps Excelsior, which - in the mid 20th century, definitely not today - was of a liberal bent and closely tied to the Mexican intelligentsia. She does write for La Jornada, but her career as a journalist long predated the paper's founding.

Here's to You, Jesusa![edit]

There should be something in this article about the novels she has written "Here's to You, Jesusa!"

Author or princess?[edit]

This article would better serve its subject if it devoted as much detail to her writing career as it devotes to her pedigree. --JALee (talk) 19:00, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is asking for reliable sources. This article was very likely edited by her son Felipe Haro P. He could be contacted at Twitter @ fharop — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:7000:9E40:EE:B472:ED0F:1356:5BA4 (talk) 00:35, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
