Story - 3 witnesses[edit]

I've heard, or seem to remember a quote attributed to Elfego Baca. A client of his was arrested in El Paso, and he wired Elfego asking him to represent him as he was charged with murder. Elfego was said to have wired back, "Don't worry, I'm leaving right away with three eye-witnesses." or words to that effect. Anybody have any knowledge of that?

Golf Shootout[edit]

Not sure how to correct this or anything, but the Golf Shootout section is a direct cut-and-paste from a Yahoo article today. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.252.198.203 (talk) 21:11, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sparse[edit]

"Southwestern New Mexico at the time was still relatively sparsely settled cattle ranching country" I would argue that this, for the most part, is still true today.--Sunoco (talk) 02:11, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pancho Villa's pistol[edit]

Under "Legends", this article says that Baca took a pistol belonging to Pancho Villa. However, in the 2nd-floor hallway of the Saint James Hotel in Cimarron, New Mexico, there is a set of photographs of Mr. Baca; in one of the photographs, he is holding, as for display, a rifle. The caption under that photo says that Baca had taken Pancho Villa's favorite rifle, not his pistol. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cogreg (talkcontribs) 02:00, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
