There is a problem with equating this passage to that of Psalm 22:1. In the latter, the final word is azabvtha-ni. In Mathew ch. 27 v.46, it is sabachthani. Rendering the correct meaning (after transliterating the Greek to its original Hebrew)"My God, my God, how thou dost glorify me". It is suggested by James Ralston Skinner in "The Source of Measures", Cincinnati 1875, or commentators on his work, that this was a deliberate falsification of the early Church Council in order to destroy a perceived link to Pagan temple rites.The final words concluding the thanksgiving prayer of initiates to the Mysteries being " My God, my Sun, thou hast poured thy radience upon me".125.239.108.65 (talk) 02:19, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
