Elves on the Discworld are based more on the nastier kind of fairy-folk in British and European folklore than elves as portrayed in most modern (post-Tolkien) fantasy fiction.

While the Discworld elves are nastier than Tolkien's elves, Tolkein's elves were darker than the Victorian era elves, which were often depicted more like Tinkerbell.--66.162.55.2 15:45, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Elves[edit]
