Fair use rationale for Image:Emeraldbanner.jpg[edit]

Image:Emeraldbanner.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I would like to request that the name Martin Fojt be taken off the page in the 'Key People' section as unfortunately Martin Fojt has passed away. http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/announcements/deaths/deaths/11010886.Martin_Anthony_Fojt/ http://www.emeraldgrouppublishing.com/about/news/story.htm?id=5203 --CatrionaG (talk) 13:44, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have updated the list of non-fiction types so that they are an accurate and complete list. I have referenced the source as http://www.emeraldinsight.com/ --CatrionaG (talk) 16:06, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm going to revert. The previous, much shorter list covered all that. No need to go into that much detail in the infobox. --Randykitty (talk) 16:54, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to upload the Emerald logo to the page. The logo is protected trademarked although it can be reproduced with permission. Please can you advise.--CatrionaG (talk) 15:06, 13 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There is some advice on uploading non-free covers in WP:JWG (look for the example, copy those contents and adapt them for your logo). The procedure for non-free logos is basically the same, just change the license from non-free-magazine-cover to non-free-logo. --Randykitty (talk) 15:24, 13 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Randykitty. The logo I am attempting to upload is a company image rather than a cover. The best example I can find is: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Elsevier.svg Can you advise how I replicate this? --CatrionaG (talk) 14:55, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • That particular logo is in the public domain, as it is more than 100 years old, so it can be uploaded at Commons. Unless you want to wait that long, you really cannot upload this stuff at Commons, but only under fair use here locally. In my post just above I explained how to adapt the procedure for journal covers for a logo. --Randykitty (talk) 15:24, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for this advice RandyKitty, will update at a later point --CatrionaG (talk) 14:27, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to add an additional section to separate the history of Emerald and add in information about current operations. The changes will require new paragraphs of text which I can supply for you to change or I can update myself. As I am an employee would you discourage me making these changes despite the amount of work required on someone else's behalf?--CatrionaG (talk) 14:27, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have this page watchlisted, so go ahead and add those paragraphs (as long as they are sourced) and I'll look at them when I see them in my watchlist and edit if necessary. Anybody give you a hard time about it, refer to this discussion. --Randykitty (talk) 15:09, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
