Degree[edit]

I don't think Szemeredi received any degree at the Moscow State University. Kope (talk) 20:14, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

He did receive PhD degree from Moscow State University, under supervision of Prof. Israel Gelfand. This can be checked from Math Genealogy project.

Certainly not! Under the Soviet system, degrees were not awarded by universities, check here. Kope (talk) 06:55, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Perfect squares result[edit]

I have removed mention of the result on perfect squares with Khalfalah and Lodha. This result is not of comparable importance to the others mentioned in the same paragraph - the Szemerédi-Trotter theorem, the Ramsey number of and the Hajnal-Szemerédi theorem. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Busy365 (talkcontribs) 16:07, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It is not clear how Busy365 ascertains whether a theorem is important. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.27.11.202 (talk) 15:10, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Results in computer science[edit]

A paragraph should be added on Szemerédi's extensive contributions to computer science.
