Removal of school courses

I just removed the many links to courses - mainly because the list of links is entirely against our policy that we are not a directory. I was also concerned about two other points:

  • The links and listing did not provide any real information on the subject of engineering management. It maybe that some of the universities also have good portals on the subject, but listings of the courses don't provide real information on the subject.
  • The listing we had made it seem like engineering education is entirely US lead - this is inappropriate in a global encyclopedia without solid validation from good sources.

Related Articles

I just started an article on Master of Engineering Management. I'd welcome input. I have an MEM degree and am writing from that perspective.--THE FOUNDERS INTENT TALK 22:07, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

As another MEM Graduate, i believe it is a separate entity all together - the degree and the field, just as an MBA and business.

Merger proposal

Regarding the above-created Master of Engineering Management article, in over a year, sufficient content has not developed to necessitate a separate article. I propose rolling that information into this topic. --Lenin1991 (talk) 05:04, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

There is a enough content currently on each page to keep them independent. The programs are new and the field is still growing - i would give it more time.

I believe that the MEM article follows the customary approach to separate articles for each degree (Ex: Education Masters, Bachelors, PhD). --THE FOUNDERS INTENT PRAISE 18:44, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

  • I believe its better to do this too, have them separate. E.g. Lawyer and LL.B is separate. ID9082375835 (talk) 18:45, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Logical View

I think to get knowledge about Engineering Mangement is good, rather then we would make it specific to particular like Master of Engineering Mangement, i Vote its name should not be changed or merged from Engineering Mangement to Masters of Engineering Mangement Azam Ishaque 19:31, 6 February 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Azamishaque (talkcontribs)

Note that the merger would be the other way, from Masters of Engineering Mangement to Engineering Management. I believe MEM is a subtopic of EM, and that page included only a couple sentences.

Actually there are varying names for the same basic degree. The George Washington University has changed the name of their degree at least twice that I know of (i.e., Master of Engineering Administration => Master of Engineering Management => Master of Engineering and Technology Management). --THE FOUNDERS INTENT PRAISE 12:11, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Broken Link

The external link "IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management Journal" seems to be broken. I think it links to a specific issue. Even if we update the link to the current issue it will be obsolete quite fast. Any thoughts? Guy.other (talk) 13:00, 11 August 2011 (UTC)guy.other
