Also called Physical Asset Management (PAM), it is the coordinated management of the design, procurement, commissioning, use, maintenance, and decommissioning of a firms/companies physical assets in order to maximise the contributions of these assets over the life cycle of these assets.

Including a list of recognised EAM software packages in this article adds value by demonstrating some of the packages available. Earlier entries had been more blatant attempts at advertising, but I previously removed these attempts and ensured that the list was alphabetical to minimise perceptions of bias. How are they 'recognized'? This is a simple list of external links, with no referenced criteria for inclusion. It's not 'alphabetical', nor does that make it any less promotional. You've even blindly reverted back in at least two blatant spam links. I'm really not sure how the external links improve one's understanding of the topic. An acceptable list might be shown as "According to Gartner, the top three providers are x,y,z" with links to internal articles and a footnote to the Gartner paper. Do you have any such references? Good suggestions, now applied to the article.Jschwa1 (talk) 11:16, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Utterly perfect. Thanks! Kuru talk 00:27, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest updating the list of EAM software providers to the ones on this link: http://www.plantservices.com/articles/2009/066.html. This is more comprehensive and recent. The cited Gartner article is from 2007, is for a specific subset of the industry (Power Generation) and is property of the Gartner Group, who do not allow their reports to be published in the public domain. Article Development[edit]

I've been tweaking this a bit because I'm looking specifically at Maximo Asset Management. May come back to integration/comparison with ERP, Service Desk, IoT and Analytical reporting. Might also wish to cover general purpose EAMs and niche EAMs. Doing this with neutral references is not necessarily straightforward.Djm-leighpark (talk) 13:24, 2 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
