Richard Stallman connection[edit]

Richard Stallman was a computer programmer in the MIT artificial intelligence lab from 1971 until the mid- or late-80s, and he continues to use MIT as his office. In 1983, Stallman launched the free software movement which is a mega programming project based on allowing and encouraging collaboration.

Anyone know if von Hippel used Stallman's work and philosophy as a starting point or inspiration for his research?

In interviews, von Hippel calls Stallman's GNU GPL "genius". Gronky (talk) 18:58, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Collaborations[edit]

Somehow this part looks fishy to me, almost like some self-marketing attempts of former students. It seems impossible to determine in how far these were essential collaborations. If so, the article should probably point out in what ways those made significant contributions to the academic world and not just listings of publications. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.246.36.203 (talk) 19:31, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Toolkits for User InnovationToolkits for user innovation

It has every appearance of being a generic, common-noun term. It should not be upper-cased unless it's a proprietary or commercial name. Tony (talk) 13:11, 31 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
