Avant-rock?[edit]

I'm not doubting avant-rock exists, but is this still in that realm? It's pretty much a modern classical chamber piece which just so happens to contain some "rock" instruments. Yes, I know, no original research, but one would wonder if there is any sources calling this song specifically rock as opposed to those which notice how it has little to no connection to it. --181.115.61.87 (talk) 23:42, 5 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, "Erk Gah" does have elements of modern classical, but Henry Cow's music has always been difficult to classify, and hence the use of catch-all labels like "avant-rock" and "experimental rock". I haven't seen any sources that specifically refer to "Erk Gah" as modern classical, but "experimental rock" is probably a safe label as it covers a wide range of genres, including classical music. —Bruce1eetalk 08:57, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
