Ernest the Pirate?

Was it ever proved if that was a hoax or actually truth? It's stated that Jim Varney had one last Ernest film in progress called Ernest the Pirate, but he died in 2000 and it wasn't completed or was in post production. It still hasn't been released, there are multiple petitions online asking for it —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.248.255.230 (talk) 02:38, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

I came across this interview with Coke Sams (director/writer/producer of many of the Ernest films) today (http://knowtheartist.com/hey-vern-it%E2%80%99s-ernest-collaborator-coke-sams/) that is very illuminating in regards to "Ernest the Pirate". Turns out it was never intended as an Ernest movie, but a pirate movie with Varney starring. Unfortunately, Varney passed away before real filming could begin. The movie was later completed and released as "Pirates of the Plain", starring Tim Curry. I'm still a Wikipedia noobie, so I'm not sure if this really belongs on the Ernest page (since it's not even an Ernest movie at all), or on Jim Varney's page. Just figured the info should be out there. Caseyroberson (talk) 19:38, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
