Height of statue[edit]

The image gives me the impression that the statue is towering over some trees, but one of the sources shows that it's about 60cm tall. Do any of the sources give its exact height? -- John of Reading (talk) 07:11, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ernest Rutherford memorial → Statue of Ernest Rutherford – Per WP:VAMOS, which says, "For portrait sculptures of individuals in public places the forms "Statue of Fred Foo", "Equestrian statue of Fred Foo" or "Bust of Fred Foo" are recommended, unless a form such as "Fred Foo Memorial" or "Monument to Fred Foo" is the WP:COMMONNAME. If further disambiguation is needed, because there is more than one sculpture of the same person with an article, then disambiguation by location rather than the sculptor is usually better. This may be done as either "Statue of Fred Foo (Chicago)" (typically preferred for North America) or "Statue of Fred Foo, Glasgow" (typically preferred elsewhere). The memorial is more than just the statue and many sources in the article refer to the memorial, for example: "The $400,000 memorial marking Rutherford’s birthplace includes a mound surrounded by terraces with plants and trees from Canada, England and New Zealand representing the places in which Lord Rutherford worked." - Station1 (talk) 03:58, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. I don't understand the rationale for changing. It seems to be implying that "Ernest Rutherford memorial" is not the COMMONNAME, but doesn't say so explicitly and provides no evidence. Perhaps I am misunderstanding the proposal?? Nurg (talk) 23:01, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
