Copyright problem removed[edit]

Prior content in this article duplicated one or more previously published sources. The material was copied from: https://web.archive.org/web/20110919070004/http://showstudio.com/contributor/erwin_blumenfeld. Copied or closely paraphrased material has been rewritten or removed and must not be restored, unless it is duly released under a compatible license. (For more information, please see "using copyrighted works from others" if you are not the copyright holder of this material, or "donating copyrighted materials" if you are.)

For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or published material; such additions will be deleted. Contributors may use copyrighted publications as a source of information, and, if allowed under fair use, may copy sentences and phrases, provided they are included in quotation marks and referenced properly. The material may also be rewritten, providing it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Therefore, such paraphrased portions must provide their source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with these policies. Thank you. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:58, 5 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This copyvio has been removed by rolling back the history to the last clean version before it was inserted. That's had particularly serious fall-out in this case, as a major rewrite by ArtPhotoLover has been undone. Unfortunately that rewrite made use of the compromised content, such that the two could not be separated. I'm truly sorry about this. Even though this has been listed since 19 December last year, I plan to wait a couple of days before asking for the revisions containing the copyvio to be hidden from view, just in case anyone wants to work on restoring any clean text from the rewrite. But please do not restore any copyright violation! Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:58, 5 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Official webpage[edit]

Hello @Justlettersandnumbers: I just restored the paragraph "External links" with information on the webpage of the Estate of Erwin Blumenfeld that you had deleted saying "that can't be an "official" website – he died long before the internet was born." - When you look at the website, you will see that it obviously was not created by him, but by his descendants, who call it Erwin Blumenfeld's website. As it presents current information and photographs by Blumenfeld, I am confident that interested readers will find this worthwhile and should not have been deleted in the first place.
