I am not entieraly sure if I am correct in this but, Esther Edwards Burr died in 1758 and she was born in 1732. Yet in her portrait she appears to be wearing more modern attaire, possibly clothing that would have been worn during the regency era (1795-1820). Perhaps this is not a portrait of Esther Edward Burr at all (portraits are often missidentified). This is all purely conjecture though and I wanted to see if other people had noticed this too.
