This source [1] describes her as a "native New Yorker". While this seems to suggest she was born in New York, that term is sometimes used for people raised in New York. I cannot access the New York Times sources since they are behind a paywall, and cannot comment on what they may actually say.John Pack Lambert (talk) 19:10, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
