American citizens[edit]

I'm curious about the specification that "Ethiopian Americans are American citizens...." Wouldn't the term apply to any American resident of Ethiopian descent? -- Gyrofrog (talk) 18:01, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced[edit]

The article has no references. There is a "References" section, so I'm wondering if it did have them in an earlier version (I haven't yet looked). In any case, the population figures for various metropolitan areas need sources. Also note that People of Ethiopia gives the population of Ethiopians in the U.S. as 70,000, but that isn't cited, either (and that seems an extremely low figure). -- Gyrofrog (talk) 14:57, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There are now four in-line citations. Another editor added a U.S. Census citation indicating that there were 120,000 foreign-born (my emphasis) Ethiopian immigrants. However, this was presented as 120,000 Ethiopians (regardless of origin). I cited some unofficial surveys for the Washington DC area, though neither of these specify whether these numbers are foreign-born or all people of Ethiopian descent. And the text quoted "Terrazas (2010)". Actually it was a 2007 study but another editor had changed the year.
